you wont be flitting across the galaxy to "deploy" anymore like we have been.... we will be engaged in long term local conflicts with border regions... against enemies who have a vested interest in those areas... you will not be able to hold vast areas anymore..thats the whole point...so dont get your knickers in a knot about supplying far off places.... cause the map will change... the mechanics will support what it can support...current areas of control will change....
YOU WILL BE DOING EVERYTHING IN A LOCAL SENSE
what happens across eve wont matter...cause your ability to deploy there quickly will be limited...what does matter is working with allies to set up timers and fleets to draw your enemies into "choices"... defend...split fleets....or stay...move....use JFB(jump fatigue bait) ..the possibilities are endless...use gates? or risk more jump fatigue....
and hopefully it will have a side effect of decentralizing JITA as well....since many tears seem to be coming from haulers who have it easy in the current jump mechanics....
ohh and if the goons keep unsubbing..we can just walk in soon and take your goodies without any fights :) so keep up the tear hose goonies and CFC... its a wonderful day in eve when the goons on one hand are saying this is going to help us...and on the other hand the players who did not get the memo on how to talk on the forums..are crying they will unsub thier accounts...
IMO this is a great small alliance win...(alliances that are mostly fixed in position) nomadic alliances of course that are cap heavy will have to come to realize that the galaxy has got much bigger and they will have to narrow their field of operations...
PURE GOLD!!!!
That is the game play YOU want. Not me I want giant fights with big ships and lots of people. I want long drawn out wars not more little ity bity border skirmishes. That dose not interest me in the least. OHHH you mean like the 800 man blob you put together today in EWOK to defend a infrastructure hub that was RF...and we basically did not form cause we only had 120 to counter it.... those kind of big fights..the kind of fights where you use the leveraged advantage of YOUR NUMBERS BROKEN SOV BROKEN FORCE PROJECTION...stemming from , shared JB network, Titans, huge jump range.... well dropping a 800 man fleet that you collect from across the galaxy in minutes to pound a 100man fleet that has local interests is not the kind of fights we want. So i guess yes we have different visions of the what the game should be :) BOO frigging HOO!

DNSBLACK wrote:1. Not only the huge number of caps but the ability to move materials from high sec to 0.0 to build them. Wanting a farms and fields type game begins with terrain and preventing the JF from selling and shopping at JITA MART. What I find crazy is reading the addiction to high sec the current 0.0 groups have. I thought you guys hated high sec.
1. We need to move massive amounts of material from highsec to 0.0 simply because our fields out in 0.0 don't produce enough Mex for any large scale production. The industry changes did make producing out in 0.0 viable, but without another mineral reballance out in 0.0, mining and producing locally simply isn't viable, also producing T2 out in 0.0 now means you can only produce what your local moons can give you. That is going to suck when you have an armor doctrine and can only produce T2 shield stuff, or the wrong race of T2 ships. If you are having to import raw material just to produce stuff out on the fringes, it would be smarter to simply shut down production and just import the finnished goods from highsec anyway. So yea, we 'hate' highsec, but it still is the only place to shop for everything you need out in the 'frontier'.
The fantasy of mining and producing locally, falls flat on its face when confronted by the reality that you would need to mine out an anomally (the only 'unlimited' source of minerals) anywhere between 20-30 times in order to get the amount of mex to build only 100 battleships. That isn't even half of a Baltec fleet welp. It takes a little over 21 man hours to mine out a small ore site with max Roqual boosts, and you would need to do it 30 times to get the Mex for those 100 battleships. Thats 630 man hours, just to get enough Mex for not even half a fleet that can be lost in less than an hour. Meanwhile what are you going to do with the Megacite to build 3k battleships that you got from cycling an anomally to get enough Mex to poduce only 100. Who is going to buy your surplus Mega if everybody else locally has plenty of highend but no Mex like you. You would ship it to highsec, but now how are you going to get it there to sell that isn't a PITA? "it's only because of their stupidity that they're able to be so sure of themselves." Alavaria Fera wrote:Urban Camo wrote: Jump fatigue is not the way to go, killing logistics is not the right way to go. The best idea I have seen is capacitor regen rates reduced with each jump. That will affect all ships, after a few jumps, the logos won't be able to generate enough cap for themselves, let alone the fleet they are trying to support . Though... in a lot of cases carrier blobs aren't constantly running reps. And you do generate cap by means of the capchain (another thing blobbers do) What Urban Camo, is thinking now. DNSBLACK wrote:Or better yet a freighter op to move it out. Nothing has changed but the easy mode. It will no longer be a one man show guys.
Who better has the resources to do a freighter op: a small entity, or a large coalition?
A freighter op is, by design, supposed to be boring. If anything happens, other than the freighter getting to its location without incident, the op failed. It's escorts are there to scare away the small stuff that might happen to stumble on it, not to fight. A freighter op isn't like some escort quest in any other MMO. It is moving a significant value of corp/alliance level assets. You would be a fool to risk anything happening to it, so you plan the op to be as tedious and boring for everyone involved as possible.
GÇóMaking something tedious will not stop players doing it if it's very clearly the best option. They'll do it, and they'll hate it - CCP Greyscale "it's only because of their stupidity that they're able to be so sure of themselves." The Trial - Franz Kafka-á |

Sgt Ocker wrote:[quote=Rowells] Ok thats good.. one of your allies in Dek needs help defending.. How long will it take you to get a capital fleet there to assist? Well if they weren't complete mongoloids (more than likely not but you never know) they will have timed the structure, and more than likely we can get there within 24-36 hours.
Quote:Can you help with logistics - all their logistics pilots are burnt due to fatigue and can't move for the next 3 or 4 days. Since the likelihood of someone hotdroping our logi just got reduced dramatically, if they do have a fatigue timer it won't be 3-4 days, we can take gates now mr. smartiepants.
Quote:Hmm Branch to Dek, in a carrier - currently a few hours once you have cynos in place. Post patch, 3 maybe 4 days (remembering you will now have to make 4X the amount of jumps). Same will go for Branch - You need help your only option is your blue neighbors and if Branch is being invaded then your neighbors already have problems of their own and won't be able to assist you. Forget the "CFC" coming to your aide, your too far away. It will take us a couple of hours to move a cap/super fleet after the changes. (Hint: we won't use our jumpdrives because the threat of a counterdrop just went 'POOF'.) Everybody is going to march, no riding the bus any more.
